Hi, everyone!

I’m doing my SECOND AMA “Ask Me Anything” on Reddit this Wednesday, July 12, from 2pm to 10pm! If you joined me last time, thank you! Can I count on you to join me again? It’s fun!

For those of you who don’t know, Reddit is a social media news website with many “subreddits” that focus on particular categories.

My AMA will happen at r/books. I’ll send out an update with the exact link once I receive it, but you can still find my post there by 2pm EST on Wednesday.

Basically, an AMA is where you log on, post a question to me, and I answer it (just like any other discussion forum). You don’t have to say online. Just post your question and go!

If you don’t have a Reddit account, it’s easy and FREE. Just click the sign up button in the upper right hand corner and fill out the form. They never spam you, so no worries there.

Once logged on, you can post a question. I’ll be answering them all afternoon and evening, so please just take a few minutes out of your day to post a question. Again, you don’t have to stay online and can always read my answer later.

Not sure what to ask? Here are some ideas:

How did you get started in your writing career?

What advice do you have to offer to aspiring novelists (or screen writers or video game writers)?

Who are some of your favorite authors and why?

What is your favorite movie and/or movie franchise?

Can you name some authors that had the most influence on your writing?

What is your writing schedule like?

Do you use extensive outlines when writing or just make it up as you go?

How do you remain creative?

Do you ever get writer’s block?

What is it like adapting a movie script into a novel?

How do you turn video games like Splinter Cell into novels?

What was it like working in Los Angeles as a film and television writer?

Which do you like better: teaching or writing?

How do you balance being a full time teacher and a writer?

What does your family think about your writing career?

What is the most rewarding thing about writing books?

Which do you like best: writing scripts, novels, or video games?

As a writer myself, what can I do to avoid writing cliche material?

As a writer, sometimes I want to give up. What keeps you going?

What made you return to fantasy and science fiction after writing so many military thriller novels?

Can you tell us more about the character of Doc Harrison?

How many books do you think will be in the Doc Harrison series?

How did you come up with the storyline for the first Doc Harrison book?

Doc Harrison and the Apocalypse has a lot of alien creatures. How did you come up with them?

I just finished the first Doc Harrison book. Is there anything you can tell us about the next one?

Other than Doc, who is your favorite character in the series?

I notice you used Beta Readers on Doc Harrison. How can I become one?

I hope these questions will help get you started! And I’d love for you to post something on Wednesday between 2pm and midnight! Thanks so much!
